Stony Stratford is a small market town in Milton Keynes that has a rich history.
The Cock & Bull story was started in the area with outlandish stories being told by travellers and highwaymen at The Cock and The Bull Public Houses. These pubs are still standing and can both be visited today in the High Street.

CHARACTER & charm
Stony Stratford is well known for its character and has an abundance of old-world charm. It benefits from a wide variety of independent shops, some of which have been on the High Street for hundreds of years. Every Saturday there is a market held in Timor Court and on the last Friday of every month a traditional Farmers’ Market in the Market Square.

Benefits of the area include the many pubs, restaurants, hotels, tearooms, bakers, butchers, gifts shops and florists. There is a local medical centre with plenty of free parking in and around Stony Stratford.
At Christmas the area is decorated with the most spectacular display of lights with shops joining in the celebration with their festive window displays.
Entertainment
In the summer, there is a week long music event called The Stony Live festival. The event has live music, dance, literature, performing arts and many other displays. To finish the event they perform Folk on the Green, a free music festival featuring the region’s top musicians as they play to crowds under the summer sun.
